Remember the wish list I posted a while ago? Well, since Christmas is over, I thought I’d do a small update on the gifts I received. As I’ve mentioned before, here in Spain we receive gifts the 24th from Santa or from Olentzero if you’re in the Basque Country like I am. Plus, the 5th of January we also receive gifts from the Three Wise Men, lucky us! Since we normally celebrate Christmas in Madrid, we always receive more gifts in January than Christmas.
Anyway, here’s what I got:
- A Zara Home frame from Santa,
- A book by Umberto Eco, also from Santa,
- and a hand made scarf from Santa as well.
- A digital weight scale for the kitchen from Olentzero.
- From the Three Wise Men: some beautiful kitchen towels,
- scented candles,
- a set of small silver
coffeeteaspoons, - a dartboard,
- and a brand new Le Creuset dutch oven in Caribbean Blue!

Everyone was very generous! I loved each and every one of my gifts, and it was nice to have a few surprises in there. Plus, this year we did a gift exchange (“Amigo Invisible” or invisible friend) with my mom’s side of the family so each would receive a gift. It was really fun and I got a set of dishes (more like goblets) to serve ice cream and a decorative golden plate, all from Zara Home. The worst part was not being able to eat at the family lunch we had yesterday to celebrate, because of my (lack of) wisdom teeth. But since one of my cousins just had her braces put on the other day, I made a chocolate dessert so we both had something toeat… more details to come!

Can’t wait to see what you stir up in that dutch oven
And a dart board?! Oh honey- we really *do* have so much in common!
I made rabbit ragu yesterday to serve with pasta, yum. I’ll be sharing the recipe next week. The dart board was my brother’s gift and we love it! Can’t wait to set it up and start playing
Love the reusable shopping bag from Trader Joe’s
Me too!
