My days off are coming to an end tomorrow! It’s been a wonderful two weeks, and although I haven’t completed as many projects as I would like, I’ve really enjoyed these days. Oh and the outdoor table and benches just need another coat of paint and stain for it to be d-o-n-e. We’ve both realized that we like building a lot better than painting, but we have to finish a bunch of things before we keep building or otherwise we’re going to have a ton of unfinished projects.
I realized the other day that I’ve never shared how I store my jewelry, so it’s time now. I used to make my own earrings and necklaces when I was younger. I made so many of them that I think I have a pair of earrings to match any possible outfit I have… the problem is that a few years ago I developed some sort of allergy and I can’t wear them any more. I’ve heard that they sell something in pharmacies that might be able to help me so I’ll have to try that. In the meantime, I get to enjoy the display of jewelry next to my side of the bed every day!
The wood stand I use is from a market in Santa Barbara, the Santa Barbara Arts and Crafts Show. I remember buying it almost 9 years ago for something like $10-$15. I’ve kept it all these years because I love it and it’s really functional, since you can store different types of earrings plus necklaces and bracelets. The only thing you can’t keep there is rings, but I’m not a fan (I find them uncomfortable) so that’s not a problem for me. The small ceramic bowl is actually my boyfriend’s (his sister bought it for him in Turkey I believe) but since he didn’t use it I’ve made it mine now. I use it to keep my watch and the one bracelet I actually wear.
So this is how I keep my accessories. If I ever have anything expensive I might change it for something more traditional like a closed jewelry box, but it works for now!

Oh, I really like that. I’ve had my eye on something very similar on Etsy for ages now, but it hangs on the wall. My jewelry is such a mess and I never wear any of it because it’s not easily accessible. Such a simple, cute, and practical solution!
How cool! I bet you could DIY something similar too if you needed an extra =) Thanks for sharing!
