5€ Chairs

Ever since we built the benches for the outdoor dining table we knew we wanted to upgrade them to chairs down the road, and use those benches with the cheaper dining table. We love the hand made benches, and they’re great for extra seating, but let’s face it, they’re not the most comfortable seating option out there. Eight outdoor chairs can be an expensive purchase though, because even if you find cheap chairs – like these Röxo ones from Ikea we used for the small dining nook – at 20€ each, they set you back 160€.

But then the other day while I was browsing the Sales section from our local Ikea’s webpage, I found those same chairs in yellow for 5€ each! (Actually, 4.99€). The deal was too good to pass up even if we weren’t fond of the color, so we chose to buy them and decide later on whether to paint them or keep them as is. We hurried to Ikea and bought eight of them before they ran out. After unpacking them (the best thing about these chairs is that they are one of the few things at Ikea that you don’t have to assemble) and plopping them down, here are our two outdoor tables now:

I actually like how the yellow chairs look with the table, I’m just not sure they fit in the overall color scheme from the patio. What would you guys do? Would you paint them another color or keep them as-is?

I think the yellow works well. You may want to add some additional yellow accents to tie them into the space, but then again, I don’t know much about decorating!! A darker color may also work, like a charcoal color. Either way they’re sweet looking chairs. Not having to assemble them is NICE.

Oh yes, keep them yellow they look good with the table and the orange floor. But then again… we have a yellow closet, a yellow cabinet for china, a whole room painted lime yellow, and I just bought yellow pastel jeans (for 10 EUR) this weekend, so I guess I am not the one to ask !
